Yeah, my freezer's bad with like two years of frost on it: It's a drop down chest. I have planned and tried to buy a better freezer a stand up one with drawers to replace it: I thought I only needed 24 hours to "defrost it" here? maybe in our almost 100* F weather. I was also planning to one day get an electric literal freezer ice chest or electric cooler with optional solar panel add-on for like camping or beach parties. They're on IndyGoGo.com or Kickstarter.com. Now, I found a fridge/chest combo by Whirlpool at Lowes: It can be both. I am planning to buy it this week or next week after I get paid. My problem is I am supposed to eating a lower sugar diet like my doc wants me to eat less than 100g carbs a day: I usually managed about 110 to 125 g a day still loosing weight, but I started eating more addictive fast food when I had a eight week sore throat cold that would not go away... Anyway, I know you have to have the freezer one twenty four hours before using it.Oh, so, I eat the food less often because of counting carbs. I ate most of my pot pies though high carb (60g) I can eat one a day if other things are less carbs. I am debating if I should just use the either or freezer-fridge combo as a freezer or use it temporarily to defrost my faithful freezer. In the past when I considered replacing it completely, I thinking about taking up hunting and using the freezer chest for game meat. My problem is pizza and hamburgers (buns.) I found low carb buns some are 13g but for $6-8 a pack or 20g for $1.20 generic. I have low carb 0cal pizza crest mix (and King Arthur flour out of Vermont has low carb gluten free version.) So..I think this could work out better this summer. Well, damn this is longer than I planned... getting wordy nerdy in here. LOL! (It's a Weird Al song reference.)
I had a similar issue lat year. Thankfully it didn't involve taking things apart like you had to endure. Mine had a removable plastic tube under the fridge with a trap curve. The defrosted water would drip into a pan underneath that was right under the coils and fan, causing it to evap off. The plastic tube was clogged causing the same problem inside that you had.
Being cool is a necessity in a clown world that is intent of burning lol cheers and good luck….
what an absolutely shitty design...
